Tell us about yourself:

I work as a resident assistant for graduate students and enjoy spending time learning about their research as well as planning programs that involve social justice topics, leadership, peer relationships and service. In my leisure time, I am a long-distance runner and rock climber.

Your vision:

I want my public degree to assist me in helping people who aren’t necessarily able to, or want to, help themselves achieve a more quality life. This professional degree should prepare me in the fundamental concepts all public health professionals should be proficient in. Additionally, if I want to pursue a career in medicine, I am sure having a good understanding in preventive healthcare coupled with expertise in medical treatment will allow me to provide a better service to patients and the community.

Why Purdue:

There’s so much to read up on in the field of public health that there will always be something that interests me. My professors have also done a good job connecting textbook knowledge with current events.

Your education:

My undergraduate degree was completed here at Purdue in biology with minors in chemistry, psychology and radiological health sciences.
