Purdue Tourism & Hospitality Research Center in the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management provides scientific knowledge informative to destination communities, tourism organizations, and hospitality businesses. The center is committed to the mission of making life better for consumers of tourism and hospitality as well as those who host them.

As part of the research team in Purdue University’s College of Health and Human Sciences, the center’s faculty conduct scholarly and practical studies in relation to the three themes of Promotion of Health and Wellness; Social Relationships and Culture; and Work, Health and Well-being. The center’s faculty have both academic credentials and rich industry experiences. They are highly regarded in the world for both the productivity and quality of their discovery efforts. They serve as editors or on editorial boards of international publications and are frequent winners of best paper awards at international conferences. Together, they possess a world-class portfolio of expertise ranging from the holistic approach of tourism management, which is concerned with the quality of life for people away from home and those who host them, to specific methods of hospitality management, which addresses a spectrum of host and guest relationships.
