HK/SLHS Professors presented with a Microsoft Research Award

HK's Dr. Jeffrey Haddad and Dr. Jessica Huber, Professor of Speech, Language, & Hearing Sciences, were presented with a Microsoft Research Award for Software Engineering Innovation at the Microsoft Faculty Research Summit in Redmond, WA. The goal of the work for which they were recognized is to develop and test the effectiveness of a home-based training paradigm using the Microsoft Kinect that is specifically designed to target both the cognitive and balance deficits common to people with Parkinson’s disease.
