Group Exercise is broken up into two sessions per semester lasting 6-8 weeks in length. Pre-registration is requested.
Although the group exercise schedule varies from semester to semester we always try to provide a variety classes based on member input. If there is a class that you and others would particularly enjoy please let us know. Below are some descriptions of classes we have had in the past. Call 496-1015 for times and schedule or pick up a schedule at the fitness center desk.
This exciting class combines a moderate to high intensity 20 minute cardio workout and a 20 minute functional strength workout. Enjoy energy building cardio choreography and muscle strengthening all in one fun class!
SilverSneakers® (Muscle Strength and Range of Movement)
Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, balance, range of movement and activities of daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a SilverSneakers ball are offered for resistance. A chair is used for seated and/or standing support.
Functional Group Training
Functional group training is a highly effective full body workout. This 40 minute dynamic class alternates cardiovascular exercises with muscular endurance stations. This class is suitable for all ages and all fitness levels. Participants will be able to set their own pace. Advantages of these classes include an increase in eye hand coordination, balance, self confidence, and overall strength and endurance.
