Health & Kinesiology academic advisors work with students, faculty, staff, and administration to maintain and improve the quality of education in the College of Health and Human Sciences and Purdue University as a whole. As advisors, we are committed to supporting each student in developing and implementing an individualized plan for academic success and career development.
The Department of Health and Kinesiology is one of nine units within the College of Health and Human Sciences with a unique set of responsibilities:
- The preparation of scholars who will contribute to knowledge and understanding of human behavior across the life span within the contexts of health and physical activity;
- The preparation of professionals as teachers, athletic trainers, public health specialists, and health and fitness service providers and managers;
- And more importantly, the preparation of students who seek knowledge, experiences, and skills in various areas of study (i.e., athletic training; public health; health and fitness; exercise physiology; sport psychology; sport and health pedagogy; motor development; biomechanics; motor control; and others).
