Welcome to HK's Graduate Program...
The pursuit of a graduate degree requires not only a strong academic background and deep interest in an area of study, but also a broad intellectual curiosity, persistence, and a bit of courage. It is a big decision to go to graduate school, as it will significantly impact your career trajectory, social contacts, and personal growth. Determining your readiness for graduate school and your fit with a particular graduate program are critical tasks in coming to this decision. In our web site you will find information that assists with these tasks.
Of course, we are not just a web site. The Department of Health and Kinesiology has over 20 faculty and 100 graduate students dedicated to enhancing basic and applied knowledge that fosters human well-being. Our academic community is cohesive, creative, and committed to interdisciplinary work that is cutting edge. We are also a welcoming community. As you explore the information pages on our graduate program, research labs, and engagement activities, we encourage you to make contact with HK faculty members working in the areas in which you are thinking about studying. We are eager to know of your aspirations and to share our own.
Thank you for your interest in our graduate program and best wishes in your efforts to further your education and career.
Sincerely,
David B. Klenosky, Ph.D.
Director of Graduate Studies
