Researchers at Purdue University are conducting a research study of Latino families and children in 5th grade. The purpose of this research is to study the strengths and challenges facing Midwest Latino families as their children transition into adolescence. Latinos are a growing population in Indiana, but Latino families in the Midwest are rarely studied.
Families will be interviewed in order to examine how families positively contribute to the successes of their children despite potentially challenging circumstances. Another goal of the study is to look at how stress contributes to health and well-being of individual family members.
