B.S. degree in Early Childhood Education with a Kindergarten endorsement, 1997, Purdue University; Associate's Degree in Child Development and Nursing, Inchicore Vocational School, Dublin, Ireland, 1989

Since I began teaching in 1997, I have learned that it is important to have a supportive, warm, loving environment for young children. I believe Early Childhood Education is the foundation of children's love for learning, and when given the opportunity to receive a hands-on preschool experience in a conducive environment, they can reach their potential. I am a strong believer in the individual temperaments and learning styles of children. They are each born with innate qualities that determine how they will react to situations. As a teacher it is my job to be observant, creative, and able to adapt well to individual children, providing them with the resources they need. In addition, it is my responsibility to build a strong relationship with the child's parents/guardians, because a strong home/school connection has been shown to help future success in education.

I was born in Dublin, Ireland and I am the second eldest of six children. I am extremely close to my family and it is because of my four brothers and sister that I choose to work with children. Mike and I have been married for 18 years and we have a beautiful boy, Rian.

B.S. with Distinction, Early Childhood Education, Purdue University

After graduating from Purdue I worked with children as a developmental therapist, a kindergarten teacher, and a preschool teacher. I strive to help children develop a lifelong love for learning, and to work with families so that each child can develop to their fullest potential. I am very excited to be back at Purdue University where my education began.

I live in Crawfordsville with my husband and two beautiful children. My favorite things to do right now include watching my children play sports and make music. My other interests include reading, walking, photography, and scrapbooking.
