Parents Raising Safe Kids
connect with your county educator about this program
This program was developed by The American Psychological Association--APA--and the National Association for the Education of Young Children--NAEYC--as part of the ACT (Adults and Children Together) Against Violence initiative.
Violence is a learned behavior, so it's important to teach parents and caregivers of young children (birth to age 8) about these topics:
- understanding the impact of violence on young children
- anger management
- social problem-solving
- media violence
Purdue Extension educators using this program have been trained as ACT program facilitators.
