Selling and Sales Management students develop critical sales techniques by taking their classroom training into sales competitions. Sales role-playing and sales simulation challenges are critical to the success of our graduates and the Department of Consumer Science is committed to providing its students with opportunities to gain a competitive edge in industry. Industry partnerships make hosting professional sales competitions possible in the department. The students are also encouraged and facilitated to participate in inter-university regional and national sales competitions which take place across the United States. The Purdue teams have performed well at these national sales competitions and gained invaluable experience of the sales process and environment. The sales competitions also provide the students with an opportunity to network with many companies, recruiters, and graduates with excellent jobs.
In the past, our Center for Professional Selling has partnered with two companies, TEKsystems and Victaulic, to provide on-campus professional selling competitions. In addition, we have had students attend the Ball State University Regional Sales Competition, the Indiana University National Team Selling Competition, and the Russ Barrie Institute National Sales Challenge (RPI).
Register now for upcoming sales competitions, which are open to all Purdue students regardless of major. To register, send your resume to firstname.lastname@example.org.
