David Evans

 

Dr. Evans is the Purdue Extension state specialist over the family resource management program area.  He is also a member of the Department of Consumer Science’s graduate faculty. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah, his Master’s degree from Utah State University and his PhD from The Ohio State University. His primary responsibilities include the training and evaluation of research-based educational programming through the cooperative extension service at Purdue University. Dr. Evans’ research interests include family finance, help-seeking for saving and investing, and household decision-making over the life-span.  He is a published author and co-author in the Journal of Family and Economic Issues, the Journal of Financial Counseling and Planning, and the Family and Consumer Sciences Research Journal. He is a member of the American Council on Consumer Interests, the Family Economics and Resource Management Association, and the North Central 2172 Agriculture Experiment Station. Dr. Evans is an active member of the north central region extension specialists project and the multi-state, flourishing families research team. He is one of seven members of a wonderful family who help keep him humble, active and keenly aware of the need for sound financial management practices!
