Margaret (Margie) Story
Margie Story has been affiliated with Purdue University for 28 years. She is currently an academic advisor in the Department of Consumer Science. Her main responsibility is advising undergraduate students majoring in Financial Counseling & Planning and Retail Management. Margie is also the advisor for the Purdue Collegiate Financial Planning Club. She serves as the liaison between the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards in Washington D.C. and the Consumer Science Department monitoring the CFP Board Certification of the Financial Counseling & Planning program. Her professional affiliations include membership in PACADA and NACADA.
Margie holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Iowa State University and a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Purdue University. She taught in the Purdue Child Development Laboratory School for 20 years and advised students in Early Childhood Education from 1985-2005. After a two year collaboration on a Classroom Links to Early Literacy grant for Head Start through the Department of Human Development and Family Studies, she joined the Department of Consumer Science.
Margie serves on the Board of Director's for Tippecanoe Child Care and is an active member of the Children's Ministries Board at Riverside Covenant Church. She was the academic advisor for the Purdue Association of the Education of Young Children for 15 years and an active member of NAEYC.
