Schane Coker is a Master's student in the Department of Consumer Science at Purdue University. His research interests are in financial literacy and education, centering around underrepresented minorities and K-12 students. His previous work in the Financial Services Industry as a Membership and Loan Officer and Assistant Manager with Industrial Federal Credit Union has given him first hand perspectives on how individuals with little to no money understand the concepts of income, assets, and debt. More recently he has working with graduate students and young professionals, helping them develop budgets and debt management plans. He holds a B.S in Financial Counseling and Planning, a minor in Organizational Leadership and Supervision, and Certificates in Entrepreneurship & Innovation and DiversiKey, respectively, from Purdue University.
