How has your Purdue experience made an impact on you?

Some people call Disney World the happiest place on earth and I call Purdue my Disney World! It is a place that makes me truly happy, both when I recall my memories from my time on campus and now when I go back to visit. It is the place where I met my husband. It is where I formed lifelong friendships. It is the place where I received world-class training in my field. And it is where I started my career. I can't think of another place that has had such an impact on my life!

What activities did you participate in as a Purdue Student?

Purdue Crew, CFS Student Council, SHAPE (Students for Healthy Body Acceptance and Positive Esteem), Hawkins Grad House Resident Assistant, F&N Society, and Foods and Nutrition research assistant

What do you consider your greatest accomplishment?

When I was studying to become a dietitian, I envisioned myself writing magazine articles and sharing nutrition information with the general public. My career has taken many twists and turns, but always with that same goal in mind. Now I am an entrepreneur working in public relations and writing which gives me the freedom to shape my schedule in a way that I can spend plenty of time with my growing family.

What do you enjoy most about your position as a Freelance Nutrition Communications Consultant for KB Nutrition & Communications?

I enjoy working with companies who value the unique expertise that a dietitian can bring to their communications programs. There are a lot of unqualified people out there sharing nutrition information with the public, so I am impressed that so many companies are committed to working with trained professionals to share information with their target audience.
