Christine M. Ladisch
Christine Ladisch, inaugural dean since July 1, 2010, has become the first dean for Purdue University's College of Health and Human Sciences. Prior to this position, Ladisch served as vice provost for academic affairs at Purdue University.

As vice provost for academic affairs, Ladisch provided leadership in undergraduate education and faculty affairs and dealt with matters of personnel, budget, academic planning, program evaluation, promotion and tenure and general academic policy development and implementation. She was promoted to vice provost in July 2005 after serving as associate provost since 2001.
Prior to joining the Office of the Provost, Ladisch served as head of the Department of Consumer Sciences and Retailing from 1999-2001 and as associate dean for academic affairs in the (former) College of Consumer and Family Sciences from 1993-1999.
As a professor in the Department of Consumer Sciences and Retailing, her research focused on biotechnology applications for textile products and was supported by grants from the National Science Foundation, the Department of Energy, and the USDA.
Ladisch has received departmental, school, and university-level awards for teaching excellence, is a member of the Teaching Academy, and is listed in the Book of Great Teachers. In 2003, she received the Distinguished Alumni Award from Purdue's (former) College of Consumer and Family Sciences. In 2010, she was recognized with the One Brick Higher Award for leadership of the University's preparation for institutional accreditation.
She received her BS in education from Indiana State University and her MS and PhD in textile science from Purdue University.

Inaugural dean named for new College of Health and
Human Sciences
Christine Ladisch, vice provost for academic affairs, will serve as inaugural dean for Purdue's new College of Health and Human Sciences. A national search for a dean will begin in fall 2011 with plans for the new dean to be in place for the 2012-13 academic year.
