Judy is a Purdue graduate with a B.S. in psychological sciences and a minor in sociology. She came to the College of Health and Human Sciences Advancement Office in January 2011 after serving in the same position for Purdue Libraries since 2001. She started her career at Purdue in 1990 as associate director of development for the College of Liberal Arts. Prior to coming to the University, she was director of marketing and fundraising for Sycamore Girl Scout Council and a marketing assistant at EM Lubricants, a subsidiary of Great Lakes Chemical in her earliest career.
She brings 30 years of professional experience to the College. During those years, she has developed and applied skills in private fundraising, marketing, event planning, strategic planning, grant writing, magazine writing and editing, and alumni relations. One of the programs she has been most passionate about is Purdue Women in Philanthropy. She says, “I have seen many women become excited in finding their 'philanthropic voices'. It's been truly gratifying. At the same time, it has been a personal journey that has reenergized my own view of philanthropy."
Judy serves on the board of the Serra Club, Region 7, and is an active volunteer in her church. She was past president of the National Fundraising Professionals (NFP) local chapter and served on NFPs state board of directors. She has also served on the Purdue Alumni Association board of directors.
Judy is energized by the possibilities the new College of Health and Human Sciences holds for students, researchers, alumni, the state and the world. She is eager for the opportunity to build the advancement program using the fundamentals learned during her career. She feels the deep sense of commitment to the mission of Purdue and a sense of loyalty and pride in being part of the Purdue family.
Judy and husband Dan, an electrical engineer, have two adult children, Jen, a Purdue grad and Purdue research associate in the HHS College; and Matt, a plumber and VP of the company in Anchorage, Alaska, who has a five-year-old son, Gabriel.
