The Personal Side of Public Health

Dr. David Satcher is a public health administrator who served simultaneously as the 16th Surgeon General of the United States and Assistant Secretary for Health at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Well-respected by the medical, business and political communities, Dr. Satcher continues to dedicate his life's work to promoting healthy lifestyles for all Americans. His keynote lecture will address the critical gap between what we know and what we do in areas such as obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, mental health and AIDS. He will also address major health disparities in the U.S. as they relate to culture, race and ethnicity.

This event is free and open to the Purdue campus and the public.
