About Healthy Purdue

Healthy Purdue 2008 Information Session

Launched in January 2006, Healthy Purdue is the University’s effort to protect the health and productivity of Purdue employees, contain our rising health care costs, and lead the way in employee health research and education.

Offering two levels of incentives, one for getting informed about your health (completing a wellness screening and health risk assessment) and another for then taking action to improve or maintain it, this initiative encourages and rewards participation in health-promoting activities.

Purdue recognizes the importance that a healthy lifestyle has on the workplace, as well as its impact at home. The same financial incentives apply to spouses and same-sex domestic partners. By identifying the family and lifestyle behaviors that are driving high costs, campus programs can be designed to target risks and health priorities.

Participating employees have raved that this initiative speaks volumes about how the University values them. Our goal of a healthy culture is well on its way.

Get healthy. Stay healthy.

Who’s eligible

Benefit-eligible faculty, staff, and long term disability participants from West Lafayette, Calumet, Fort Wayne, and North Central campuses hired before January 2, 2008, and their spouses/same-sex domestic partners, may participate.

All eligible participants are invited to take part in Healthy Purdue each year of the program.

Employees who leave Purdue before the financial incentive is paid will not receive payment. They must be working at Purdue at the time of the incentive payment in order to be paid the incentive.
