Dr. Whittington received her PhD in biomedical engineering from Purdue University in December 2012. Originally from Hallsville, Texas, she graduated with her BS degree in biomedical engineering from Louisiana Tech University. In addition to her activities with AGEP, she was also active in K-12 and undergraduate outreach with the Purdue Biomedical Engineering Graduate Student Association and the Purdue Black Graduate Student Association. Dr. Whittington is currently a postdoctoral scientist in oncology research at Eli Lilly and Company in Indianapolis, Indiana, as a part of the Lilly Innovation Fellowship Award program.

Kiana R. Johnson, PhD

Dr. Johnson recently earned her PhD in educational psychology at Purdue University, where she also earned her BS degree in psychology. She is from Indianapolis, Indiana, and attended public schools. Dr. Johnson enjoys her research, which focuses on youth with chronic health conditions, and also serves as an advocate for these youth. She is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Minnesota with the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities program. Her current research focuses on the transition from pediatric to adult healthcare for youth with physical disabilities.
