Current Research Interests:

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a highly fatal disease with an average 5-year survival rate of 8%. The aggressive and invasive nature of the malignancy and poor diagnostic tools contribute to the extreme mortality rate since most patients present with late stage disease. The dismal survival profiles highlight the urgency to better understand the molecular mechanisms behind tumor growth and metastasis for developing effective therapeutic strategies. In the clinic, PDAC is associated with robust coagulation system activity. By taking multiple genetic and pharmacological approaches, I want to investigate the connections between cancer cell derived coagulation cascade factors (e.g., PAR-1 and TF) and PDAC pathogenesis in vivo. My goal is to advance our knowledge of PDAC development and aid in developing new therapeutics for this dismal diseases.
