Jerry Ross joined Purdue University as University Registrar in January 2016. He was previously the University Registrar at Syracuse University where he led an overhaul of the Office of the Registrar. Before joining Syracuse University, he was an associate registrar at West Virginia University where he managed projects and services related to degree audit, curriculum, academic catalogs, NCAA academic eligibility, and assessment.

Prior to joining WVU, he served in various capacities in the College of Arts and Letters at the University of Southern Mississippi with his primary responsibility being student services for the college. While working there, he earned a doctorate in educational studies and research with an emphasis in adult and higher education. Previously, he had earned a BA and MA at the university in history and political science, respectively. Over the years, he has taught coursework in political science, education, and first year programs.
