Jon Harbor is a Professor in the Department of Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences, and also Director of Digital Education and Associate Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning at Purdue. He has previously served Purdue as Head of the Department of Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences, founding/interim director of the Global Sustainability Institute, Associate Vice President for Research, Interim Dean and Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Education in the College of Science, and Founding Co-Director of the Discovery Learning Research Center. With research and education interests in applied hydrology, environmental education, and glacial geology, Jon has authored or co-authored over 130 peer-reviewed papers in scientific journals and he currently co-directs two multinational research teams. Jon is past chair of the Association of American Geographers' Geomorphology Specialty Group and served on the Executive Committee of the American Geophysical Union Heads and Chairs Board.
