Dr. Signe E. Kastberg is a Professor of Mathematics Education in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction in the College of Education. She holds a MA in mathematics and a PhD in Mathematics Education from the University of Georgia. Professor Kastberg joined Purdue University in 2010. She is currently a Co-PI on one NSF grant and senior personnel one DOE grant. Dr. Kastberg’s research interests are in mathematics teacher education, specifically relational practice (Grossman, 2011; Kitchen, 2005) including exploring and illustrating listening, trust, care, and empathy, and the ways in which these sustain and motivate student-teacher collaborations. She has over 36 refereed publications and 45 refereed presentations in these areas.
