Peace Corps Master’s International

How to Apply

Candidates interested in the Peace Corps MI Program must apply to and be accepted by Purdue University before applying to Peace Corps.  Students applying to ESE should express their desire to be in the Peace Corps MI Program in their application.  Applicants accepted into ESE may then apply to the Peace Corps MI Program and should apply between 9-12 months before departure to their Peace Corps assignment.  MI Program candidates are able to learn upcoming Peace Corps vacancies by country and by program up to a year in advance.  Students will then be able to apply for specific programs in counties where they are offered.  Once a student has completed the recruitment process and been accepted by the Peace Corps, they will be informed of their Peace Corps assignment 4-6 months before departure.  This will provide students and their faculty an opportunity to develop their special project or research plan.  However, specific sites within Peace Corps countries are not determined until after completing the three-month Peace Corps training. Associated academic Units formalize their partnership with each student through the Plan of Study filing at which point a department can choose not to want to support the student’s Plan of Study. ESE works with departments in facilitating student success.
