Curricular Requirements

       The following bulleted items apply to both CIGP tracks, CS&E and CLS:

  • To fulfill CS&E and CLS course requirements, total nine credits are required for the master’s and 12 credits for the doctoral.

  • All of the CS&E and CLS courses must be completed with a minimum grade of B.

  • CS&E/CLS Seminar course has an attendance requirement that must be met.

  • All Courses taken for CIGP track should be listed on the Plan of Study. Do not list any master’s courses on the Ph.D. Plan of Study.

  • If you would like to take a course not listed in the course listings linked below, please fill out the Course Request Form.
  • Special/advanced topic courses should be pre-approved by the CIGP office.
  • Graduation candidates must notify CIGP Office for the final audit and concentration approval.

Seminar Course Registration

To register a CS&E/CLS seminar course, GRAD 68900, for Fall 2017, please send an email request to Matthew Konieczny, OIGP Program Coordinator, at cigp@purdue.edu with the following information.

  • Your PUID,
  • Your full name,
  • Your concentration track - CS&E or CLS
  • Course # - GRAD 68900 (for both CS&E and CLS seminars)

Additional Information:

  • When the class capacity is full, the registration is closed immediately.
  • CS&E/CLS seminars are offered in fall and spring semesters only.

Plan of Study

When a graduate student successfully registers for the CIGP track, CS&E or CLS, one of the following concentrations will be approved on Plan of Study (POS). CIGP Office reserves the right to remove CIGP concentration at any time when student fails to complete CS&E or CLS requirements or upon discovery of incorrect use:

  • Computational Engineering - IGP, 'CMEN' for the CS&E engineering majors
  • Computational Science - IGP, 'CMSI' for the CS&E sciences majors
  • Computational Life Sciences - IGP, ‘CMLS’ for the all CLS students
