I am a sophomore studying pre-pharmacy hoping to be accepted Purdue's doctor of pharmacy program in the next couple months. The program involves two years of pre-pharmacy work and then four years in the professional program.
I grew up in the metro Detroit area. The number of options I had for school made my college decision a difficult one. But the Purdue pharmacy program was the best that I found in the Midwest.
I was offered a Trustees Scholarship which provides me $10,000 per year as an out-of-state student. The Trustees Scholarship is why I was able to come to Purdue.
When I opened the envelope that told me about it, I was ecstatic! Purdue was my number one choice from the start, but I had to convince my parents that it was number one for their checkbook.
I’m having a wonderful time at Purdue. I’m part of Purdue Pharmacy Ambassadors which helps recruit students to the University, and Alpha Phi Omega, a co-ed service fraternity.
I don’t know if there are words that can honestly say what this scholarship means to me. I couldn’t have asked for a better college experience.
