I am sophomore from Fort Wayne majoring in management and recipient of a Trustees scholarship along with a second scholarship funded by donors Cheryl and Jack Coffin.
I worked very hard in high school. When I graduated I was Valedictorian. I had the academic accomplishments to attend the university of my choice. I considered Butler. But I really wanted to attend Purdue. When I received my acceptance to Purdue it came with the scholarship and there was no doubt then what I was going to do.
I was going to Purdue.
It’s a good feeling to win scholarships. You put in all that time and hard work that it takes to become a class Valedictorian. And then you’re offered a four year scholarship with a $32,000 payoff – that’s a great feeling.
The first time I arrived at Purdue was when my parents dropped me off for freshman orientation. I assumed I would like it here. I have actually fallen in love with this University.
I’m involved in a number of activities. I’m on the Purdue Foundation Student Board. I am secretary of Purdue Student Government. My studies are going well.
My plan is to graduate from Krannert after five years of study with a bachelor’s degree and an MBA.
Speaking for all the students who receive these incredible gifts, I want to thank our donors. You have achieved tremendous success in your lives. I hope you understand how much every dollar you donate to scholarship means to us.
We can only say again and again, thank you, thank you very much. We are working very hard to earn what you have given to us.
Thank you for helping make my dreams come true.
