Curricular Connections takes students "Into the Wild"

“Thank you. You are the best. Wow, wow, wow. You are the best. You are really great.” - Aurora, age 8

Bus DrawingThat is the sentiment echoing hundreds of others young students who had the opportunity to see Jack Hanna’s Into the Wild Live! at Purdue’s Loeb Playhouse on October 15.

Each year Purdue Convocations provides matinee school experiences for local elementary students as a part of our Curricular Connections program. A public performance will be scheduled on a weekend, followed by two Monday matinee performances for field trips. This year’s education line-up includes Jack Hanna’s Into the Wild Live!, The True Story of the Three Little Pigs, How I Became a Pirate, and Click, Clack, Moo. Because of Friends of Convocations, we were able to provide 502 students individual scholarships to attend Into the Wild for free!

Thanks to our loyal donors, we can provide thousands of transportation and ticket scholarships to young students each season. For many children, this is their first experience with live performing arts. And. They. LOVE it.  They wriggle in their seats. They laugh. They gasp aloud. They applaud enthusiastically.

Early Arts experiences have a transformative impact on young children. Thank you for playing a role in providing this opportunity for the students in our community!
