Spring is a happy season at Purdue especially after a hard winter like the one we have experienced in West Lafayette. As the temperature works its way into the 50’s we are beginning to see shorts and t-shirts on campus as the students show their impatience for warmer weather.
Activities are heating up with the Countdown to Touching Down, an astronaut reunion, just days away. Events are scheduled beginning on April 10 and culminating with appearances at the spring football game on April 12th and the Conversation with the Astronauts at 7 PM that evening in Elliott Hall of Music.
The first ever Purdue Day of Giving will take place beginning at midnight April 30 and continue until midnight May 1. It is a 24-hour, online event, that will focus on student affordability and accessibility, among other areas, and will feature Web-based social media components. The day's theme is "Opportunity Granted." For more information please visit the Purdue Day of Giving webpage.
Thanks to all of you who attended our President’s Council event with the Purdue Varsity Glee Club in San Francisco. It was a wonderful evening filled with beautiful music, good fellowship and timely information about our great university. We are currently in the planning stages for more of these events so stay tuned.
Believe it or not football season is just a few short months away. This year we will be returning to our traditional venues, the Union ballrooms and the tailgate tent, for the President’s Council pregame activities. We are grateful to the John Purdue Club and Purdue athletics for hosting us this past year in the Spurgeon Club. Stay tuned for the details later this summer.

Our Mission is to RECRUIT, RETAIN, and RECOGNIZE leadership donors, advocates and volunteers who support Purdue University.
The President's Council was established in 1972 to recognize the distinguished alumni and friends who understand that the University can fulfill its educational goals only with their loyal support and financial involvement. These individuals have paved the way for the future and continue to support the excellent education afforded Purdue students.
For more than 30 years, the Council's membership has been instrumental in Purdue's progress and success by giving to a multitude of University programs. The Council currently includes more than 17,000 loyal Purdue alumni and friends.The goals of the President's Council are to:
- Provide an increasing pattern of generous giving to the University to support and enhance quality in all its academic endeavors;
- Develop the active participation of alumni and friends to serve the institution through close association with the president and University community;
- Recognize those whose generosity serves the welfare and advancement of Purdue; and
- Educate all constituents on the importance of philanthropy at Purdue.
Thank you to all Council members for maintaining these special goals!
