Bringing Indiana schoolchildren to Purdue’s Galleries
is the goal of the ArtBridge initiative. It is our commitment
to share the experience of viewing and appreciating original
artwork with Indiana’s children and encouraging them
to develop a lifelong love of art. With your support, we can
continue to develop the ArtBridge initiative to its fullest
potential of contributing to Purdue’s vision of preeminence.
“I feel so fortunate to have partnering opportunities
with the Purdue University Galleries department. Their willingness
to network with the community is generously extended in
offering free shuttle services to bring students from their
schools directly to the galleries, loaning artwork to schools
for study and display, providing assemblies in schools to
show and tell about artwork and in offering professional
workshops for educators. All of this is given as a service
to our community and those nearby, free of charge. Everyone
knows of cuts in funding for arts education as a common
policy for schools tightening their budgets. In order for
educators to meet the state standards, we must relish such
enrichment. The staff of the Galleries department is friendly,
knowledgeable and accessible! Bravo!”
— Sue Perry, Mayflower Mill Elementary School art
teacher and 2003 recipient of the Golden Apple Award
