International Print Exhibitions

Purdue Galleries have been pleased to present two "Global Matrix" exhibitions, presenting contemporary reviews of fine art printmaking in all media from around the world. The first installment of Global Matrix was presented at the Purdue University Galleries and six other venues from 2002 – 2004. The second installment revisited the world of international printmaking five years later, showing at Purdue and five additional venues from 2007 - 2008.

Working together to select works for Global Matrix have been: Kimberly Vito, Associate Professor of Art & Art History at Wright State University; Kathryn Reeves, Professor of Art & Design at Purdue University; Sean Caulfield, Associate Professor of Art & Design at the University of Alberta; and Craig Martin, Director of the Purdue University Galleries. Vito and Martin previously collaborated on the exhibition and CD-ROM production “The Democratic Print: A National Survey of Contemporary Relief Printmaking” for the Wright State University Art Galleries. Reeves curated the first two Mid America Print Council Exhibitions and has coordinated traveling exhibitions for the Southern Graphics Council.
