A World Away

Purdue senior Kaushik Manchella understands how to grow as a leader on completely different soil.  Originally from Ghana, Kaushik moved away to accomplish his dream of becoming an engineer, majoring in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Electrical and Computer Engineering.

He has had the opportunity to work three different internships for two companies during his time at Purdue working for a Coca-Cola bottling plant in Ghana and moving to Hitachi Automotive Systems in the metro-Detroit area in consecutive years. Kaushik has learned that engineering is so much more than he thought it to be.  From working for Hitachi Automotive Systems to being a mentor and being a part of the behind-the-scenes of Boiler Gold Rush, being part of Purdue Engineering has affected several aspects of his life beyond time in class.

“Being part of this organization has helped me shape my future goals and made me discover my passion for helping others,” he said of BGR.
