Fraternity, Sorority and Cooperative Life
Purdue University is home to over 80 fraternities and sororities and 12 cooperative houses. These organizations are governed by five different governing councils. These councils are the Interfraternity Council, Multicultural Greek Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council, Panhellenic Association, and Purdue Cooperative Council.
Cooperative housing is governed by the Purdue Cooperative Council (PCC) with representatives from all 12 housed student organizations.
The Interfraternity Council (IFC) is comprised of North American Interfraternity Conference (NIC) member organizations and other inter/national fraternities.
The Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) is comprised of culturally based groups from a variety of national bodies including the National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations (NALFO), National Asian Pacific Islander American Panhellenic Association (NAPA), and several others.
The National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) is the local representative body of the National Pan-Hellenic council and its nine member organizations.
The Panhellenic Association (PHA) is comprised of National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) member organizations and other national women's organizations.

In order to be an educated consumer, it is important to address these issues with an organization if you are interested in joining.
