Dedicated to excellence in scholarship and the advancement of critical thought, the Purdue University Press, established in 1960, is the formal publishing arm of the University. The Press is committed to distributing information in a variety of traditional and non-traditional formats to satisfy the needs of current and future scholarly discourse. The Press has several imprints including ICHOR Business books, Notabell Books, Digital-I books, and a juvenile reprint line, PuP Books. The Press focuses on business, health, technology, and veterinary medicine as well as series in central European history, comparative cultural studies, the history of philosophy, human/animal bond issues, philosophy/communication, and romance literature. The Press also publishes several scholarly journals.
Working with its editorial board, which is composed of nine Purdue faculty members, submissions are put through a rigorous review process. Once accepted, the press undertakes the editing, design, and production of each work. The press markets all of its titles using direct mail campaigns, spot advertising, displays at conventions and conferences, and by obtaining reviews in appropriate scholarly and general interest publications. The Press, directly and through its agents, distributes titles to individuals, bookstores, and libraries both domestically and internationally.
Located in South Campus Courts–E, the Press serves the wider academic community by providing professional advice concerning publishing questions related to contracts, Library of Congress cataloging, distribution, promotion, and publicity. |
