Selection and Appointment of Staff


The authority to select and appoint Purdue University staff, including faculty, administrative and professional, is vested in the Office of the President, subject to final approval by the Board of Trustees. The recommendation for academic appointment rests with the various department heads and deans, although each appointment to the staff must be approved and signed by the president or his delegated representative, subject to final review and ratification by the Board of Trustees.

Selection of faculty members is based on training, experience and competence in teaching and research, and on their ability to work with others and become a part of the University community.
