Period of Provisional Employment
New clerical and service staff employees, or those who have been rehired, will normally be subject to a period of provisional employment. The provisional period for police officers and firefighters is one calendar year, and the provisional period for all other regular clerical and service staff is 90 calendar days.
Questions concerning the provisional period of employment should be directed to the employee’s immediate supervisor, the vice president for human resources-employee relations (West Lafayette campus), the respective human resources team or the regional campus human resources department.
