Welcome to the Laying Tracks program! This is Exploratory Studies' innovative and proven program to help you get your grades back on rails toward graduation. It includes thoughtful exercises and advisor support designed to help you examine the causes of your particular academic situation, calculate the grades you'll need to quickly get off probation, set realistic goals, and build back your confidence.
Directions for completing Laying Tracks:
Please thoroughly read all e-mails regarding your academic standing from the university and from your academic advisor. You will receive e-mails from your advisor with information that is specific to your situation, so be sure to follow any directions in those e-mails closely.
- Next, in an e-mail from your advisor, you were instructed to complete the Academic Intervention Assessment survey as soon as possible. Ideally, you should have this short survey completed by January 8th, 2017, but it is OK to complete it any time after this date.
- Your advisor will also give you instructions via e-mail about which of the Laying Tracks steps below you should complete on your own. It may be some of the steps; it may be all of them. This is up to your advisor so be sure to read your e-mails carefully.
- Finally, you should set up an hour-long Laying Tracks appointment with your advisor using our online appointment system. You can even set up an appointment far in advance, as long as it occurs before the end of the second week of classes this spring (January 20th). We want to make sure you come see us early so we can help you make plans for a successful spring semester!
We think that Laying Tracks is so important that we will hold your next semester’s registration PIN until you've finished the exercises and met with your academic advisor. But we know that you're so motivated to improve that we'll see you all before January 20th, 2017!
