During Your Registration Meeting

If you're running late to your appointment, please call the office at (765) 494-0843 and let the secretary know your arrival time. Missing your appointment prevents other students from being able to find time to schedule.

Plan courses for the next semester

Make sure to bring:

  • Your printed out and marked-up plan(s) of study.  You can also find plans at Purdue's Course Catalog page.
  • A list of courses you would like to take, including back-up courses in case your preferred courses are full or conflict with each other.
  • Your MyPurdue Plan What-if? tab print-outs (if completed).
  • Lots of questions!

During the appointment, you and your advisor will discuss your long term major and career goals, work and extracurricular commitments, study abroad dreams, etc.  Your advisor can then suggest course ideas and resources.  By the end of the meeting, your advisor will give you an "Advisor Schedule Recommendation" sheet that includes your suggested courses, back-up courses, resource links, and contact information.

Sign CODO papers

If you meet you desired major's CODO requirements, your advisor can create and sign your CODO-out papers for you.  Your advisor will also ask you to fill out an online CODO exit survey and will give you instructions for any other CODO requirements you may still need to fulfill.  Plan on spending an extra 10-15 minutes to complete the CODO-out process or consider scheduling a separate CODO-out appointment.

Obtain your Registration PIN

This six-digit number allows you to add and drop courses during your time ticket and during open registration.  Open registration is the period between the end of freshman registration in the current semester and the end of the second week of classes in the next semester.  Once you enter your Registration PIN into MyPurdue to register for courses, you can always retrieve your PIN by going to MyPurdue > Registration tab > Registration PIN link.
