Purdue alumna Capricia Marshall, who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in political science and international studies, serves as Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center ambassador-in-residence with the Atlantic Council and president, CEO, and founder of CPM Global Engagement Strategies. She was born in Ohio to immigrant parents, a Croatian father and Mexican mother. Three years after earning her Juris Doctor degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, Marshall became Special Assistant to the First Lady of the U.S. At age 32, Marshall was appointed Deputy Assistant to the President and White House Social Secretary, and on August 3, 2009, she was sworn in as U.S. Chief of Protocol. Capitol File magazine named Marshall a “D.C. Power Woman” in 2014.
