Clinical Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice-(002264-2009)

Qualifications:

  1. Must hold a Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
  2. Must have completed and accredited residency, specialty residency and/or fellowship  training.                                                                                                          
  3. Must become licensed to practice pharmacy in the State of Indiana.
  4. Must possess effective interpersonal and formal communication skills.
  5. Must have a minimum of three years of clinical experience.
  6. Must have a minimum of three years experience as a preceptor for PharmD candidates and/or Pharmacy Practice residents.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Be the primary contact for pre-specified Purdue University pharmacy residency programs in charge of organizing residency experiences, providing support and guidance for preceptors, evaluating each residency site, monitoring resident progress and governing the American Society of Health –System Pharmacist (ASHP) accreditation process.
  • Serve as a clinical practice role model and preceptor for advanced pharmacy practice experience.
  • Help to optimize prescribing, drug utilization and patient outcomes, including patient health status, quality of life and costs of medical care.
  • Provide effective didactic instruction to PharmD students
  • Contribute to the pursuit of new knowledge or new application(s) of fundamental knowledge through collaborative scholarly activities.
Learning:

The faculty member serves as a clinical practice role model and preceptor for PharmD student on advanced pharmacy practice experiential rotations, pharmacy residents, and pharmacists through active contributions optimizing pharmaceutical care.  Other duties include didactic lecturing on the West Lafayette campus in specific areas of expertise.

Percent effort – 20%

Engagement:

The faculty’s main responsibility will be to govern Purdue University’s new residency programs throughout the state of Indiana.  This includes, but is not limited to, organizing residency experiences, providing support and guidance for preceptors, evaluating program outcomes, monitoring resident progress and governing the American society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP) accreditation process.  Other duties include didactic lecturing on the West Lafayette campus in specific areas of expertise.

Percent – 70%

Scholarship:

The faculty member will collaborate with other faculty, students, and staff in the completion of scholarly activities directed toward advancement of patient care services and educational methodologies.

Assistant Professor Molecular Pharmacology (002251-2009)

Requirements: The Department of Medicinal Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology, Purdue University School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor.  Research in the department is highly interdisciplinary with strengths in molecular pharmacology, cancer, biology, neuroscience, chemical biology, drug design, systems biology, and computational chemistry (http://www.mcmp.purdue.edu/research/).

Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Health Sciences (002235-2009)

Requirements: The College of Pharmacy, Nursing and Health Sciences is a triumvirate of Schools at Purdue University concentrating on human health.  The School of Health Sciences continues expansion of its research programs in environmental/occupational toxicology and radiological health sciences (Health Physics and Medical Physics).  We invite applications for a tenure-track position at Assistant or Associate Professor level.  The successful candidate is expected to develop and maintain an extramurally funded research program in environmental, occupational, toxicological or radiological health sciences.  Applicants with expertise in molecular, cellular, animal model, imaging and/or computational experimental approaches related to understanding the mechanisms of external agents on human health are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:  Candidates must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree and at least two years of relevant postdoctoral research experience.  The position is competitive with regard to salary, start-up funds, and laboratory space.

Senior Faculty in Medication Safety – Pharmacy Practice (002204-2009)

Purdue University School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences invites applications and nominations for the position of Senior Faculty Member in Medication Safety and Professor of Pharmacy Practice.

Requirements:    This person serves as senior researcher and advisor for Purdue University medication safety initiatives focused on identification and reduction of medication related errors in the healthcare setting. In addition to these responsibilities, the faculty member will also serve as a mentor for junior faculty members as well as Director of the medication safety residency. There is the potential for appointment to endowed chair for the appropriately qualified applicant.

Endowed Professorship in Cancer Therapeutics (001977-2008)

The Department of Medicinal Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology in the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Purdue Cancer Center invite applications to fill an endowed chair in Cancer Therapeutics. 

Responsibilities:  We seek an established scientist with a distinguished record of accomplishment who is qualified for appointment at the rank of professor.  Candidates whose research focuses on targeted delivery of therapies and/or the applications of nanotechnology for the treatment of cancer are of particular interest.

Dane O. Kildsig Chair in Industrial and Physical Pharmacy (001962-2007)

The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and the College of Engineering at Purdue University are seeking applications for the Kildsig Chair in Industrial and Physical Pharmacy.  The Kildsig professor will hold at 75% appointment in Industrial and Physical Pharmacy and a 25% appointment in Engineering.

Responsibilities:  The selected individual will be expected to develop and sustain an extramurally funded research program, as well as to contribute to professional and graduate education.  Participation in the Dane O. Kildsig Center for Pharmaceutical Processing Research and the newly funded NSF Engineering Research Center for Structured Organic Particulate Systems will be expected.  The Kildsig Chair will also assist in the further development of the new interdisciplinary Pharmaceutical Technology and Education Center at Purdue University and its associated Pharmaceutical Engineering educational program.  Candidates should have expertise in fundamental and applied research related to the development, design and manufacturing of pharmaceutical products.

Chemical Biology/Drug Discovery (Posting #001700-2006)

The Department of Medicinal Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology at Purdue University (www.mcmp.purdue.edu) invites applicants for a tenured or tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level.  Candidates who apply modern synthetic organic techniques to the development of modulators for biological/pharmaceutical targets are of particular interest.
