Purdue University Libraries seeks a creative, innovative, dynamic, and experienced candidate to serve as the charter W. Wayne Booker Chair for Information Literacy. The Chair will provide leadership for the Libraries’ teaching and learning mission internally, University-wide, and beyond.
Responsibilities: Reporting to the Associate Dean for Learning, the Booker Chair will conceptualize and facilitate the Libraries system-wide information literacy agenda, coordinate the assessment of teaching methods and learning outcomes, and spearhead the Libraries’ research agenda in the areas of instruction and learning. Consistent with appointment at the rank of full professor, will participate in interdisciplinary research and dialogue with regard to information literacy. It is desired that the candidate have experience with grant writing and utilizing funding from external sources.
Qualifications: Master’s degree in Library or Information Science from an ALA accredited program and/or doctorate in a relevant subject area. Seven or more years of increasingly responsible experience developing, providing, or managing instructional services, preferably in a large academic or research library.
