Marriage and Family Therapy Faculty Position: (002229-2009)

Requirements: The Department of Child Development and Family Studies at Purdue University invites applications for Assistant and Associate faculty position in Marriage and Family Therapy-beginning August 2010.  We see candidates with a strong research program, the potential to attract significant external funding, and a commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching.  Evaluation of candidates will begin October 31, 2009, and will continue until the position is filled. 

Qualifications:  Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) or a related discipline, eligible for clinical membership in the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) eligible for MFT license in Indiana, and Approved Supervisor or eligible to be an Approved supervisor Candidate.  The successful candidate will be expected to initiate, conduct, and publish research, secure internal and external funding, teach graduate and undergraduate courses, and engage in service and outreach activities.  Evidence of teaching excellence, research productivity, and potential to secure external funding is required.

Rank:  The position is available at Assistant or Associate level tenured or tenure-track, 10 month appointment.  Salary is open and competitive depending upon qualifications and experience

Department of Hospitality & Tourism Management Senior Clinical Professional Instructor Position Announcement (002224-2009)

Social Science Statistics and Methodology Position (002267-2009)

Requirements: The Department of Child Development and Family Studies is collaborating with the Department of Statistics, Psychological Sciences, and Health and Kinesiology to expand our campus-wide expertise in social science statistics and methodology.  In particular, we are seeking a tenure-track faculty member with expertise in structural equation modeling and other areas of statistics and methodology to provide instruction at the graduate and undergraduate level and to provide consultation to faculty and students.  The primary home for this faculty member will be in the Department of Child Development & Family Studies, with a joint appointment in the Department of Statistics and possibly either Psychological Sciences and/or Health and Kinesiology.  The candidate will be supervised by the Department Head of Child and Family Studies and will be required to meet tenure requirements of that department.  The candidate will teach courses that are housed in the departments participating in this hire as well as offer cross-listed courses.  Purdue is exploring the possibility of establishing a university-wide consortium focused on social science statistics and methodology that will work across departments and colleges, and provide expertise for research projects and grants.  The successful candidate will be responsible for initiating, conducting, and publishing research, including seeking internal and external funding (independently or in collaboration with other faculty); teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in statistics and methodology; and participating in service and consultation activities.

Qualifications: Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in a social science discipline, but with clear emphasis on quantitative methods.  Expertise in structural equation modeling is necessary. Evidence of strong research and teaching is required.

Associate Dean (001940-2007)

The College of Consumer and Family Sciences is searching for and Associate Dean for Diversity and International Programs from within the college.  This is a 0.25-0.50 FTE position which has primary responsibility for leadership in diversity and international programs in the college and serves as the liaison with departmental and university programs and staff in these areas.  The overall goals of the position are to develop and grow discovery, learning and engagement programs that enhance the climate in and diversity of the college, and build awareness of cultural and global differences for students, faculty, and staff.  The associate dean works closely with faculty and staff to meet these objectives.  Duties include developing and promoting internal and external support for programs and working with the Office of the Vice President for Human Relations and the Office of the Dean of International Programs.  Other responsibilities include representing the college on university-level committees, implementation of special projects within CFS and other duties as assigned.  The associate dean also represents the dean at certain University functions.

Qualifications: It is preferable that candidates for this position will have attained the rank of professor in the College of Consumer and Family Sciences.  Advance associate professors who are near promotion will also be considered.  Successful candidates must have an interest in and a demonstrated commitment to diversity and international programs, along with developing leadership and administrative skills in higher education.
