The Leslie A. Geddes Professorship in Biomedical Engineering
Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering (002771-2012)

Established through the vision and generosity of the Cook Group, Inc., the Leslie A. Geddes Professorship is a tenured, associate or full professor level position designed for a preeminent scholar who is internationally recognized for scientific research and education impact in the broad field of biomedical engineering. The Leslie A. Geddes Professor will be expected to lead a world-class research program and foster and direct interdisciplinary initiatives that integrate engineering and the life sciences.

Requirements: Candidates for the professorship should possess a clear vision of emerging research and educational opportunities in biomedical engineering and be innovative in creating programs for Purdue’s rapidly growing Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering. The Leslie A. Geddes Professor will not only develop and implement a research and teaching program, but also will mentor a new generation of biomedical engineers through guiding research projects and teaching undergraduate and/or graduate level biomedical engineering courses.

Application: Applicants should provide a detailed resume of experience and qualifications, and a list of five professional references. In addition, each application should include a one to two-page description of the candidate’s vision for the future of biomedical engineering and the role that his or her contributions as the Leslie A. Geddes Professor will play in shaping that future.

Qualifications: Candidates must have a doctoral degree in biomedical engineering or closely related field.
