Tenure Track Positions in Information Technology (002760-2012)
The Department of Computer and Information Technology is seeking outstanding candidates at the Assistant or Associate Professor level for all areas of Computer Science and Information Technology for multiple tenure track positions. All areas of specialization will be considered, but we have a special interest in networking, information security, cloud computing, data mining, and complex networks.
QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in computer science, information technology, or a related area with outstanding academic credentials that clearly demonstrate their ability to conduct independent and successful research in their areas of expertise and develop a graduate research program leading to peer-reviewed publications and external funding along with teaching undergraduate and graduate courses. Candidates must have excellent communication skills with a commitment to engage high-quality undergraduate and graduate education in areas of computer science.
The CIT Department resides in the College of Technology and offers an ABET-accredited undergraduate program in Information Technology and Masters’ programs. It also participates in a college-wide Ph.D. program. The department has 27 full time faculty in its West Lafayette campus with research preeminence in information security, homeland security, and cyberforensics; scientific, high-performance and distributed computing; artificial intelligence, linguistics, and secure man-machine and machine-machine communications. Their research is funded by federal agencies: the National Science Foundation, the National Institute of Health, the Department of Energy, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation in addition to grants and contracts with the industry. The CIT faculty are also reputed for their curricular and pedagogical strengths. Several of the faculty are authors of seminal textbooks and award winning teachers with curricular strengths in systems analysis and design, network design and administration, project management and information technology leadership.
