Tenure Track Faculty Member, Assistant or Associate Professor (002836-2013)
The Department of Building Construction Management at Purdue University seeks a new tenure-track faculty member, who shall be hired to fill a 10-month position at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor rank.
Requirements: The candidate is required to have (a) five or more years of professional (post-baccalaureate) experience in the construction industry; (b) an earned terminal degree from an accredited university and in a discipline closely related to the construction industry; (c) at least one semester or two quarters of documented successful experience teaching a construction-related course(s) at an accredited university, whether full-time or adjunct; and (d) apparent flexibility and competence to develop and deliver baccalaureate or graduate instruction in several subject matter areas prescribed by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE; http://acce-hq.org/index.htm).
Qualifications: The preferred candidate will be able to document or demonstrate some or all of the following qualities: (a) exceptional experience in one of the supplemental study areas under development in the department--site supervision, graphics and BIM, owner representation, facilities management, sustainability, and global construction; (b) construction project or program supervisory experience; (c) an earned Ph.D. in a discipline closely related to the construction industry; (d) a record of scholarly publication related to the construction industry; (e) professional licensure or certification in skills and knowledge closely related to the construction industry; and (f) international construction management experience.
The selected candidate shall be expected to (a) develop and teach assigned courses; (b) perform and publish results of research; (c) participate in scholarly activities; (d) develop industry and government relationships in a field of construction expertise; and (e) perform incidental administrative activity necessary for success of other duties.
