Associate Dean for Academic Affairs & Diversity (002723-2012)
Applications and nominations are invited for the position of Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Diversity for the College of Technology at the West Lafayette campus. The Associate Dean will provide leadership for the College’s strategic initiatives in undergraduate and graduate education; serve as coordinator of accrediting activities and initiatives; and provide leadership for activities related to student services and diversity.
The College of Technology has a current undergraduate enrollment of 3,200, a graduate enrollment of 450, and 140 full-time faculty. The College also serves 1,200 students through the Statewide Technology System.
Responsibilities: The Associate Dean will serve as a senior member of the Dean’s leadership team and will report directly to the Dean of the college. He or she will serve as secretary to the faculty and the Dean’s representative on the area promotion and tenure committee. The Associate Dean will also represent the Dean in his absence at university meetings and social functions.
Candidates are sought whose qualifications and experience assure effective leadership in guiding the growth and development of undergraduate and graduate programs, and who are familiar with student service activities and functions necessary to support undergraduate education and diversity. Excellent administration, communication, and organizational skills will be essential attributes for success as the Associate Dean.
Qualifications: Qualifications include an earned doctorate from an accredited institution, a strong record of published scholarship, undergraduate and graduate teaching experience, and familiarity of student service and diversity functions. The successful candidate should be able to work with diverse programs and possess a clear understanding of the mission of a land grant institution. The successful candidate should qualify for faculty rank as a full professor in one of the academic areas within the college.
