Assistant/Associate Faculty Position (002694-2012)

The School of Nursing invites applications from candidates whose research focuses on primary prevention of chronic disease, health promotion, and use of technology in promoting health communication and/or health behaviors.  This position is part of a University-wide interdisciplinary cluster hire in chronic disease/public health, see below for more information.

Responsibilities: The candidate is expected to participate in ongoing and future initiatives in public health on campus (http://www.purdue.edu/discoverypark/ClusterHireinPublicHealth). Departmental signature areas are health promotion, chronic care delivery and health care delivery systems http://www.nursing.purdue.edu/research/. The candidate will be expected to develop a collaborative internationally-recognized research program, train graduate students, demonstrate excellence in teaching, and contribute to the departmental mission. 

Qualifications: Applicants should have a Ph.D., or equivalent degree, in the area of prevention of chronic disease, health promotion, and use of technology in promoting health communication and/or health behaviors or related field of interest.  Also, applicants must have a strong publication record.  Demonstration of external funding and teaching excellence is expected.
