Deputy Director, Bindley Bioscience Center (002636-2012)

The Bindley Bioscience Center (BBC) in Discovery Park is launching an internal search to identify and individual with demonstrated leadership and vision for the position of Deputy Director of the Center. The BBD is an interdisciplinary facility where life sciences and engineering researchers collaborate to explore new technologies and develop knowledge that impacts the broad boundaries of plan, animal and human health and disease. Traditional research that leads to technology development at the Bindley relies on in-house expertise assembled into Research Core Areas including: Biomolecular Technologies (Proteomics and Metabolomics), Biophysical Analysis, Computational Life Sciences & Informatics, Cytomics & Imaging Technology, Translational Pharmacology, and Integrated Screening Technologies. The Center’s engagement activities with the academic units within the university, the public and private organizations are fostered through research and education sponsorships, corporate partnership opportunities, and collaborative research projects.

Responsibilities: The position of Deputy Director is a 0.5 CUL with a reporting line to the Director of the BBC. The Deputy Director is a member of the Purdue University Faculty (tenure-track) with the rank of Full Professor. The deputy Director is expected to maintain an active research program. He/she will work closely with the Center Operations Manager and provide leadership in the day-to-day operations of the BBC. Administrative experience in the leadership or multi-investigator research programs and experience with industrial partnerships is desirable. 

Qualifications: Member of the Purdue University Faculty (tenure-track or research track) with the rank of Full Professor; well-established life sciences investigator with a distinguished record of scholarly and scientific accomplishments and multi-disciplinary research; is able to maintain an active research program.
