Jack & Kay Hockema, Full Professor in Civil Engineering (002757-2012)
The School of Civil Engineering (https://engineering.purdue.edu1/CE), Purdue University invites applications and nominations for the position of Jack & Kay Hockema Professor in Civil Engineering at the rank of Full Professor. Candidates with distinguished professional records in all areas of civil engineering and related fields are encouraged to apply. Applicants/nominees should have a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or in closely related fields. Applicants/nominees are expected to have an exemplary record of leadership in research, education, outreach, and team building. The Hockema Professor will developindependent research programs, and will work with other faculty members across the campus, as well as with colleagues at other universities, in developing centers of excellence in inter-disciplinary research. The candidate/nominee is expected to have a strong record in teaching and mentoring. The Hockema Professor will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, advise students, and promote professional development of junior colleagues.
The College of Engineering is currently implementing a plan (https://engineering.purdue.edu/Engr/AboutUs/StrategicPlan/2009-2014), which calls for expansion of the College and enhancement of Purdue’s global presence. The plan also includes adding up to 100 new faculty positions over the next five years.
