Director of Cooperative Extension Service, Associate Dean of Agriculture and Associate Vice President for University Engagement (002733-2012)

Purdue University seeks to hire an Associate Dean of Agriculture and Director of the Cooperative Extension Service. The position reports to the Dean of Agriculture with a partial appointment as Assistant Vice President for Engagement for the university. Purdue Extension includes faculty and staff in the Colleges of Agriculture, Health and Human Sciences, Veterinary Medicine, and Extension educators located in each of Indiana’s 92 counties.

QUALIFICATIONS: A graduate degree and record of scholarship to merit appointment as a full professor with tenure in an appropriate academic department is required. The candidate must have leadership experience in strategic planning, personnel management, and budget and fiscal management. Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide variety of constituents are required. Experience in public outreach/Extension, building strong relationships with policy makers and other stakeholders, and an understanding of and commitment to the broad mission of a land-grant university are strongly desired. Experience in university-wide and/or international outreach is highly desirable. The successful candidate must be committed to expanding and fostering diversity and inclusion in all aspects of Purdue Extension and university engagement.
